Isn't zero trust just another name for MFA?

MFA is only one component of zero trust. While MFA verifies identity, zero trust extends across users, devices, networks, applications, and data to enforce least privilege access, prevent lateral movement, and continuously validate trust.

When implemented correctly, zero trust should be nearly invisible to well behaved users on compliant devices. Friction only appears when access falls outside expected patterns which is exactly when you want friction. We design for user experience alongside security, and run shadow mode testing before any policies go live.
